We can thank God for the gift of this day. Enjoy the mess out of today. Receive the blessing of this day. Dance it out at least one time today. Fill in the gaps with prayer throughout the day. And make it a goal to go to bed with a smile on your face because of today. Because here's what I know: God gives us "today" grace.

The more my heart is parked in a place of thanksgiving and rejoicing, the less room I have for grumpiness.

But, instead of wallowing in what I can't have, I'm making the choice to celebrate what I can have.

Often, what I expect tomorrow to bring will start to play out in my attitude. I think, in some weird way, that if I expect hurt and heartbreak and hardships, this protects me from getting caught off guard. But in reality, when I do this, my negativity pulls me away from trusting God, loving people, and enjoying what today offers. And it sometimes even becomes self-fulfilled prophecies as I trade the good of today for living in fear of tomorrow.

I always making sure I was present when anything was going on. I feared that if I missed any opportunity, the magic would come while I was not there and I would miss it forever.

Positive barometers, too, wonderful things;

The past is over and done and cannot be changed. This is the only moment we can experience.

Wherever you are, be there. Lifestyle is not something we do; it is something we experience. And until we learn to be there, we will never master the art of living well.

I've learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances.

A happy man is too satisfied with the present to dwell too much on the future.

Our happiness depends on the habit of mind we cultivate. So practice happy thinking every day. Cultivate the merry heart, develop the happiness habit, and life will become a continual feast.

The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things.
