We are accountable because we are sinful. The unfortunate truth is that Adam chose to sin, and so do we. But the good news is that God gives us a way out, through Christ. Accountability and forgiveness in one shot. All we have to do is accept it. It's pretty easy.

Sin may have the power to kill and destroy, but God is the Creator of life. He can create it from nothing, and He can restore it from death.(John 11:25-26)

Dear God, I know that my sin has put a barrier between You and me. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to suffer the penalty of my sin by dying in my place so that barrier would be removed. I trust in Jesus alone for the forgiveness of my sins.

In doing that, I also accept His free gift of eternal life, which is mine forevermore by Your grace. Thank You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

John says, in effect, "In the beginning, God the Son created humanity and filled them with life. He then came to earth as a human to bring life again to humanity, which is spiritually dead because of sin.

But have eternal life." We are destined to die physically and we exist in a kind of living death in the meantime. While nothing will halt the process of decay, and nothing will prevent the end of physical life, God's grace will not allow death to reign supreme. Evil will not have the final word. Life—eternal, incorruptible, abundant life—is offered to all who will receive it through faith.

There are two evil futurities and one good. A miserable future existence is evil; and annihilation, or nigban, is an evil - a fearful evil. A happy future existence is alone good.

If one evil thought, if one evil word, if one evil action, deserves eternal damnation, how many hells, my friends, do every one of us deserve, whose whole lives have been one continued rebellion against God!

The day which we fear as our last is but the birth-day of our eternity; and it is the only way to it.

When God desires to destroy a thing, he entrusts its destruction to the thing itself. Every bad institution of this world ends by suicide.

Because when the Judgment Day came and everyone's sins were laid bare, she knew that no nails would be left clutched in anyone's hands or stuffed in anyone's pockets. Including her own. That everyone would have driven their very last nail into the hands and feet of Jesus. So yes, even as she struggled to move forward and seek understanding of all that had happened, she would leave Hood and this entire horrible war at the cross of Christ.
