We have to break this cycle, back up, regroup, and bring some sanity to our lives so we'll have the perspective, energy, and compassion for the people we see each day, and especially those who live under the same roof with us. Then we can love them like we love ourselves.

You can get everything in life you want if you help enough other people get what they want

the universe operates through dynamic exchange... giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. and in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives.

Giving connects two people, the giver and the receiver, and this connection gives birth to a new sense of belonging.

One of the things I was taught as a child, and which I taught my children also, is never to go to anyone's house without bringing something — never visit anyone without bringing them a gift.

The best way to put the Law of Giving into operation — to start the whole process of circulation — is to make a decision that any time you come into contact with anyone, you will give them something.

For every intention, we might well ask, "How would this serve me and how would it serve everybody I come into contact with?" And if the answer is that it will create true joy and fulfillment in me and all those affected by my actions, then my intention, together with surrender to the nonlocal mind, orchestrates its own fulfillment.

Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind … what we sow is what we reap. And when we choose actions that bring happiness and success to others, the fruit of our karma is happiness and success.

To receive graciously is an art that cannot be faked. If it is more blessed to give than to receive, it is much harder to receive than to give. We receive ungraciously out of pride, feeling that we don't need anyone's help, handouts, or charity, or out of some sense of discomfort. These are all ego reactions, and there is no need to have them once you realize that the giver is never the giver, just as the receiver is never the receiver. Both stand in for spirit.

At the end of the day, it's not about what you have or even what you've accomplished. It's about what you've done with those accomplishments. Its about who you've lifted up, who you've made better. It about what you've given back.

We have all received our share of good fortune, so that's my definition of much. A single blessing is all the bounty in the world, and if you've been blessed at all you're meant to pass some of that on. You're meant to set a positive example. That's our responsibility.

Give, give, give-what is the point of having experience, knowledge or talent if I don't give it away?
