Man was designed for accomplishment, engineered for success, and endowed with the seeds of greatness.

Writing is a hard business...but nothing makes you feel better.

There is always a chance of failure, of producing something totally unnecessary. But I guess that chance of failure is what makes tightrope walking, race-car driving.

Let's begin by noting that Washington historian Rupert Hughes is wrong when he writes in 1926, "… there is no direct allusion to Christ, and the word Christ has been found in none of Washington's almost countless autographs." 3 For George Washington wrote in 1779, "You do well to wish to learn our arts and ways of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ. These will make you a greater and happier people than you are." 4

A person can perform only from strength. One cannot build performance on weakness, let alone on something one cannot do at all.

When unprepared people think they're strong enough to resist any intimidation they may face, they're at great risk for abysmal failure. Pride in one's own strength cannot take the place of spiritual preparation. Discipleship is crucial to our ultimate destiny, but its cost is total commitment. Jesus warned against failing to count this cost before committing (Luke 14:25-33).

Earthly victories depend on heavenly victories, and vice versa.

Set a clear focus in your life, and fear will be crowded out. The more you fix your eyes on God's purpose for you, the more you will overcome your fear.

God's is real power clothed in apparent powerlessness; Evil's is apparent power which is really powerlessness.

You were born to win, but to be a winner you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win.

From God, I have the strength and intelligence to have alternatives and can live even without football.

I'm the sort of person who doesn't hear the word 'no' - I hear 'find another way to get what you want.'
