A soul cannot seek close fellowship with God, or attain the abiding consciousness of waiting on Him all the day, without a very honest and entire surrender to all His will.

Christians should yield themselves wholly to the glorious God who has redeemed them, to delight in serving Him in whose fellowship heaven has already begun.

In Jesus all our fears are removed, all our needs supplied, all our desires met. He, the righteous One, is your righteousness; He, the obedient One, is your obedience. Will you not trust Him for this? What faith sees and desires and expects and accepts, surely it will dare trust Christ to give.

You may have ten hours of hard work daily, during which your brain has to be occupied with temporal things. God orders it so. But abiding in Jesus is the work of the heart not of the brain. The heart clings to and rests in Jesus, a work in which the Holy Spirit links us to Jesus.

He knows when we are spiritually ready to receive the blessing to our profit and His glory.

Your aspirations are your possibilities.

I can discover within me no power of perception which is not glutted with its proper pleasure, yet I do not feel myself delighted. Man has surely some latent sense for which this place affords no gratification, or he has some desires distinct from sense which must be satisfied before he can be happy.

His wish still continued, but his hope grew less.

First of all, then, in striving for either convenience or tranquility in this present life, Scripture calls us to resign our wills and everything that is our to the Lord, and to turn the affections of our hearts over to Him to be tamed and bridled.

We should always look to the Lord, that by His care we might be led to whatever lot in life He provides for us.

Follow your bliss. The heroic life is living the individual adventure.

Over the years I've learned how to lock myself up in a prison of hope, knowing that God has nothing but His best planned for me. He promised me things concerning my ministry and my life.
