God saved you for Himself; God saved you by Himself; God saved you from Himself.

God's grace and mercy have brought you through. Quit acting as if you made it on your own.

The law discovers the disease. The gospel gives the remedy.

So when the devil throws your sins in your face and declares that you deserve death and hell, tell him this: "I admit that I deserve death and hell, what of it? For I know One who suffered and made satisfaction on my behalf. His name is Jesus Christ, Son of God, and where He is there I shall be also!

Be a sinner and sin mightily, but more mightily believe and rejoice in Christ.

We are nothing with all our gifts be they ever so great, except God assist us.

I frankly confess that even if it were possible I should not wish to have free choice given to me, or to have anything left in my own hands by which I might strive for salvation.

God does not slack his promises because of our sins... or hasten them because of our righteousness and merits. He pays no attention to either.

If God were willing to sell His grace, we would accept it more quickly and gladly than when He offers it for nothing.

Are we not to call Christ ours because we have not made him but only received him? Again, if we are the makers of things that are called ours, then we must have made our eyes, we must have made our hands, we must have made our feet, unless eyes, hands and feet are not to be called ours.

We are not to look upon our sins as insignificant trifles. On the other hand, we are not to regard them as so terrible that we must despair.

How foolish it was of Christ to purchase for us at the price of his shed blood the Spirit we did not need, in order that we might be given a facility in keeping the commandments, who we already have one by nature.
