Paul asked over and over and over again for wisdomSo should we. We need to ask for God's wisdom, revelation, and intervening power to be an integral part of our food choices from now on.

It is good to be honest with God, but we must be careful that we don't become whiners. There is nothing that aggravates my heart more than to hear whining and complaining, especially from my kids. I can't help but think the Lord might feel the same way.

The decisions we make dictate the schedules we keep. The schedules we keep determine the lives we live. The lives we live determine how we spend our souls.

Did I overeat this week on any day? No. • Did I move more and exercise regularly? Yes. • Do I feel lighter than I did at this time last Wednesday? Yes. • Did I eat in secret or out of anger or frustration? No. • Did I feel that, at any time, I ran to food instead of to God? Nope. • Before I hopped on the scale, did I think I'd had a successful, God-pleasing week? Yep!

Alarmed, I resolve to remember who I am. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Stay in the flow—my job is obedience; God's job is results. Shift from an attitude to gratitude. My reactions determine my reach.

Breakthroughs happen when we get about the business of honoring God moment by moment, step-by-step, day by day by what we do and, more importantly, with the thoughts we think while we do.

You'll live your life making decisions with the Best Yes as your best filter. You'll be a grand display of God's Word lived out. Your undistracted love will make your faith ring true. Your wisdom will help you make decisions that will still be good tomorrow. And you'll be alive and present for all of it.

So, here's the short version of my predetermined biblical procedure manual all in one place: Alarmed, I resolve to remember who I am. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Stay in the flow—my job is obedience; God's job is results. Shift from an attitude to gratitude. My reactions determine my reach.

I wasn't made to live a life that dishonors the Lord.

Let Us Be Grateful Today we give our thanks most of all, for the ideals of honor and faith we inherit from our forefathers - for the decency of purpose, steadfastness of resolve and strength of will, for the courage and the humility, which they possessed and which we must seek every day to emulate. As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.
