I like film, and I like Broadway; I just love performing, so whatever God has for me, I'll be happy to just try it and see what happens because no matter what, if I'm performing, I'll be happy.

It was a shock to everyone when I became a rapper. Huge shock to everyone. But I knew it all along. I just didn't want to tell anybody cause then it's like, What if it doesn't work?

However God had it planned, I'm rockin' with how he do it. He took the steering wheel and I'm letting him drive.

Whenever they sang a certain song in church, I used to sing it the loudest: 'Lead me, guide me, along the way!' One day, as I was singing this song, I felt as if the Lord was saying to me, 'Lead you along what way?' I realized then that if you don't have a plan, God doesn't have anything specific to direct you in.

I never make plans, because whenever I do I find out God has other plans.

In a universe that's an intelligent system with a divine creative force supporting it, there simply can be no accidents. As tough as it is to acknowledge, you had to go through what you went through in order to get to where you are today, and the evidence is that you did.

I used to listen to that song, 'I just wanna be successful!' I was like, 'I'ma be where bruh at.' I used to watch him on 'Degrassi.'

God can cause opportunity to find you. He has unexpected blessings where you suddenly meet the right person, or suddenly your health improves, or suddenly you're able to pay off your house. That's God shifting things in your favor.

After college, I knew I wanted to work in comedy, so the first thing I did was go to where the comedy was. I moved from Charlottesville to Chicago, because that's where The Second City and Improv Olympics are. You have to go wherever you need to go to study what interests you.

Remember, when God is executing His plan in our lives, He also designs and arranges events which continue to unfold until His purpose is revealed.

While I take inspiration from the past, like most Americans, I live for the future.

It's been a crazy whirlwind, but I'm so blown away by God's hand on my life.
