When we filter everything through past hurts, rejections, and experiences, we find it impossible to believe God. We cannot believe He means what He says. We doubt His goodness and faithfulness since we judge Him by the standards set by man in our lives. But God is not a man! He cannot lie (Num. 23:19). As far as Satan's concerned, you are a threat and need to be stopped—indeed, he will be happy when you are "dead."

To go back is nothing but death; to go forward is fear of death, and life everlasting beyond it. I will yet go forward.
