A Successful Journey Is the Destination

Guess what? When it comes right down to it, wherever you go, there you are. Whatever you wind up doing, that's what you've wound up doing. Whatever you are thinking right now, that's what's on your mind. Whatever has happened to you, it has already happened. The important question is, how are you going to handle it? In other words, "Now what?

Acceptance of the present moment has nothing to do with resignation in the face of what is happening. It simply means a clear acknowledgment that what is happening is happening. Acceptance doesn't tell you what to do. What happens next, what you choose to do, that has to come out of your understanding of this moment.

We are the creative force of our life, and through our own decisions rather than our conditions, if we carefully learn to do certain things, we can accomplish those goals.

We must look for ways to be an active force in our own lives.

Take your life in your own hands, and what happens? A terrible thing: no one to blame.

The American lives even more for his goals, for the future, than the European. Life for him is always becoming, never being.

If life were predictable it would cease to be life, and be without flavor.

Life is a gamble. You can get hurt, but people die in plane crashes, lose their arms and legs in car accidents; people die every day. Same with fighters: some die, some get hurt, some go on. You just don't let yourself believe it will happen to you.

Using the power of decision gives you the capacity to get past any excuse to change any and every part of your life in an instant.
