But in Heaven we will have total peace. We will be completely changed when we get to Heaven—and so, too, will those we couldn't get along with while on earth. If God can make the lion and the lamb lie down together, we can trust Him to take care of our fractured relationships as we enter our heavenly home.

We live in an upside-down world. People hate when they should love, quarrel when they should be friendly, fight when they should be peaceful, wound when they should heal, steal when they should share, do wrong when they should do right.

I call upon the leaders of all nations to work for peace, even when the risks seem high. I call upon Christians to pray and work for peace in whatever constructive ways are open to them. I do not believe this is only a political issue; it is a moral one as well.

The Charter of the United Nations said in its preamble: "We the people determined to save succeeding generations from war..." Can the United Nations save the world from war? The answer is No! It was conceived and created by statesmen who knew little of the significance of the biblical concept of history and the nature of man. When the perspective is wrong, the whole viewpoint will be wrong.

If the human race would turn from its evil ways and return to God, putting behind its sins of disobedience, idolatry, pride, greed, and belligerence, and all the various aberrations that lead to war, the possibility of peace exists.

If the other person would just do things my way, we could get along," one says, when the other person is probably thinking the same about us—that leads to conflict. Our deepest problems are within ourselves.

If you get down and quarrel everyday, you're saying prayers to the devil, I say.

Christianity has somewhat mitigated that brutal Germanic love of war. Should that subduing talisman—the cross—be shattered, a play will be performed in Germany which will make the French Revolution look like an innocent walk in the park.

A disagreement or incident involving someone who's not that important to you, like a guy who cut you off in traffic or a rude cashier, is something that should roll off your shoulders. Save the effort for resolving conflicts with the people you cherish.

There is, then, a wicked mediator, who separates friends, and a good Mediator, who reconciles enemies.

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where these is hatred, let me sow love.
