Have you ever been abandoned? Left behind? Sold out? Maybe not dropped literally down a dry hole, but that's how you felt.

It is not the man who has too little, but the man who craves more, that is poor.

It may amuse you to hear a Story. A few days ago, in Company with Dr Zubly, somebody said, there was nobody on our side but the Almighty. The Dr. who is a Native of Switzerland, and speaks but broken English, quickly replied 'Dat is enough.

In essence he declared, "If I have to choose between Your presence and Your blessing, I'll take Your presence—even if it's in a place of lack and hardship—over Your blessing in a great environment.

The promise is nothing without Your presence!

Then that scripture gave me hope, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.  Heb. xiii. 5.  'O Lord,' said I, but I have left Thee.  Then it answered again, But I will not leave thee.  For this I thanked God also.

Confidence equals contentment with self; contentment is knowing you have all you need for the present circumstances.

If we despise the position we have, it may be because of what I call "destination disease," which can also be called the greener grass syndrome. If we focus on being some other place because we think it's better, then we will neither enjoy where we are nor do what we must to succeed. 3.

Contentment is not a popular concept. Our culture actually discourages the idea. People are continually bombarded with the message, "What you have isn't enough. You need more—a bigger house, a better car, a larger salary, whiter teeth, sweeter breath, nicer clothes . . ." The list is endless. But the truth is that possessing healthy contentment is essential to being able to withstand failure. —Failing Forward DECIDE TODAY THAT WHAT YOU HAVE IS ENOUGH.

How do you cultivate optimism? By learning the secret of contentment. If you can learn that, then no matter what happens to you, you can weather the storm and build on the good you find in any situation.

I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.
