Your face is bright with the love of the Lord. Our souls are singing together, despite the evil that threatens to befall us.

We don't know how much we are capable of loving until the people we love are being taken away, until a beautiful story is ending.

It's funny what happens to you when part of your heart gets born inside somebody else.

But love doesn't control, and I suppose that's why it's the ultimate risk. In the end, we have to hope the person we're giving our heart to won't break it, and be willing to forgive them when they do, even as they will forgive us.

God risked himself on me. I will risk myself on you.

His prescription to experience a deep sense of meaning, then, was remarkably pragmatic. He had three recommendations: 1. Have a project to work on, some reason to get out of bed in the morning and preferably something that serves other people. 2. Have a redemptive perspective on life's challenges. That is, when something difficult happens, recognize the ways that difficulty also serves you. 3. Share your life with a person or people who love you unconditionally.

Love makes us both strong and weak at the same time.

Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.

is it better not to fall in love at all, or to love someone for a little while, even if you have to say good-bye?

Love will require mutual trust, opening your hearts and lives to each other. It takes work to build a true relationship. The same is true of Yahweh.

So I fight for her. Not because we will reconnect. We haven't. And we might not. Not because she's right. Not because I'm right. I fight for her simply because I want to stay right in step with honoring God.

Unrealistic expectations are things the other person isn't able or willing to do for me. I have to let go of these.
