“We have sinned and rebelled; You have not forgiven.”

And you not only walked in their ways and practiced their abominations, but soon you were more depraved than they were.

Among you are slanderous men bent on bloodshed; within you are those who eat on the mountain shrines and commit acts of indecency.

And I saw that she too had defiled herself; both of them had taken the same path.

From the day you were created you were blameless in your ways—until wickedness was found in you.

Therefore, son of man, say to your people: ‘The righteousness of the righteous man will not deliver him in the day of his transgression; neither will the wickedness of the wicked man cause him to stumble on the day he turns from his wickedness. None of the sins he has committed will be held against him. He has done what is just and right; he will surely live.

Seventy weeks are decreed for your people and your holy city to stop their transgression, to put an end to sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.

Cursing and lying, murder and stealing, and adultery are rampant; one act of bloodshed follows another.

But they, like Adam, have transgressed the covenant; there they were unfaithful to Me.

Woe to them, for they have strayed from Me! Destruction to them, for they have rebelled against Me! Though I would redeem them, they speak lies against Me.
