Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness.

It's faith in something and enthusiasm for something that makes a life worth living.

Love is "the alpha and the omega of apologetics," in the sense that all we say must come from love, and it must lead to love and to the One who is love—in other words, Christian advocacy must move from our love for God and his truth and beauty, to our love for the people we talk to and work right up to their love for God and his truth and beauty in their turn.

Too many disciples have faith in their faith, or in their joy in the Lord; and when a spiritual storm comes, they have neither faith nor joy. Only one thing can endure, and that is love for God. If such love is not there, we will not recognize the loving voice of God when He cries out to us that He is "our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble … be still, and know that I am God …" (Ps. 46:1, 10a).

A heart filled with faith, hope, and love leads to a righteous, obedient life.

It is the single most stunning reality in the life of a believer. God has placed his love on us and he will never again remove it. There's a reason to continue, no matter how hard life seems and how weak you feel.

Your love is never your foundation; his eternal love is. Live in this hope.

The law of love is the ultimate law because it is the negation of law; it is absolute because it concerns everything concrete. The paradox of final revelation, overcoming the conflict between absolutism and relativism, is love.

The gratitude of those who receive help is first and always gratitude for love and only afterwards gratitude for help.

Love is the only thing that will save us, independent of any mistakes we may make. Love is always stronger.

There is no higher "law" to be obeyed than the law of love. That, at the end of the day, is what it means to follow Jesus.

I still think and talk about what I think God is like, but I've hopefully learned (feel free to keep me honest here, people) that being right and winning isn't the endgame here. Loving as God loves is.
