The best thing was to love just a little bit; everything, just a little bit, so when they broke its back, or shoved it in a croaker sack, well maybe you'd have a little love left over for the next one.

People who want to give up on God simply because life's scenarios don't make sense could very well be walking away from a new manifestation of God and His name in their lives.

God will often allow us to be in a situation with no possible solution. This is so we can discover that He is our solution. He lets us hit rock bottom in order for us to learn that He is the Rock at the bottom. He'll put us between a rock and hard place—a situation that seems confusing, incongruent, and chaotic. And He will often do this when He's getting ready to reveal something new about Himself to us

Everybody wants success in something, whether it's in work, love, play, finances, family, or an inner struggle. But success doesn't come instantly. Life has a process of rejecting you to test you and prepare you to win.

Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.... [A]ccept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields....

No tree, it is said, can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell.

But I don't begrudge anybody, because I know how hard it is to have that dream and to make it happen, whether or not it's just to put a roof over your head and food on the table.

Because nobody goes though life without a scar.
