You want to make a difference in your world? Live a holy life: Be faithful to your spouse. Be the one at the office who refuses to cheat. Be the neighbor who acts neighborly. Be the employee who does the work and doesn't complain. Pay your bills. Do your part and enjoy life. Don't speak one message and live another. People are watching the way we act more than they are listening to what we say.

When it comes to engaging and influencing culture, too many Christians think too highly of political activism.

Be a good witness by the way you live. The way we live is often more convincing than the words we say.

The Christian is to take his place in society with moral courage to stand up for that which is right, just, and honorable.

I believe integrity can be restored to a society one person at a time. The choice belongs to each of us.

Christianity cannot expect the world to live the truths of the Gospel until it has the life that the Gospel provides in Christ. We Christians ought to be light and salt in the society in which we live.

We are the Bibles the world is reading; We are the creeds the world is needing; We are the sermons the world is heeding.

If you would convince a man that he does wrong, do right. Men will believe what they see.

I'm in what feels like a pretty transparent fishbowl as mayor. People see you at the market, people see you at the diner, people see you wherever you are, talk to you. You don't shave, they're taking selfies of you. You come back from your jog, they're talking to you.
