But peaceful was the night Wherein the Prince of Light His reign of peace upon the earth began: The winds with wonder whist, Smoothly the waters kist, Whispering new joys to the mild Ocean, Who now hath quite forgot to rave, While birds of calm sit brooding on the charmed wave.

To say that war is madness is like saying that sex is madness: true enough, from the standpoint of a stateless eunuch, but merely a provocative epigram for those who must make their arrangements in the world as given.

For a non-violent person the whole world is one family. He will thus fear none, nor will others fear him.

As one who participated in all the wars of the state of Israel, I saw the horror of wars. I saw the fear of wars. I saw my best friends being killed in battles. I was seriously injured twice.

Human nature is potentially aggressive and destructive and potentially orderly and constructive.

Dear God, Please send to me the spirit of Your peace. Then send, dear Lord, the spirit of peace from me to all the world. Amen.

We receive His peace when we ask Him for it. We keep His peace by extending it to others. Those are the keys and there are no others.

Let us learn from Christ how to pray, to forgive, to sow peace, and to be near those in need.

We know too well that our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.
