The evil in the world must not make me doubt the existence of God. There could be no evil if there were no God. Before there can be a hole in a uniform, there must be a uniform; before there is death, there must be life; before there is error, there must be truth; before there is a crime, there must be liberty and law; before there is a war, there must be peace; before there is a devil, there must be a God, rebellion against whom made the devil.

Goodness by its nature is lovable and love finds it impossible not to pursue goodness.

Peace belongs only to those who will to have it.

The hatred and contempt for men, women and children that was manifested in the Shoah was a crime against God and against humanity.

It's a great responsibility before God, the judge who guides us, who draws us to truth and good, and in this sense the church must unmask evil, rendering present the goodness of God, rendering present his truth, the truly infinite for which we are thirsty.

An unjust peace is better than a just war.

These people who govern us should not be so carried away by their own political power that they turn away from peace, but neither should they embrace a peace that is dishonorable.

The truly thankful person is a truly peaceful person.

What's the point of the war? Why, oh why can't people live together peacefully? Why all this destruction?

In spite of everything I still believe that people r really good at heart. I simply can't build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, death & misery. I c the world gradually being turned into a wilderness, I hear the ever approaching thunder, which will destroy us too, I can feel the sufferings of millions & yet, if I look up into the heavens, I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end, & that peace & tranquility will return again.

Hope for an end to war, hope for peace.
