Faith is spiritualized imagination.

Every tomorrow has two handles. We can take hold of it with the handle of anxiety or the handle of faith.

Many times people back away from things they want to do, from the dreams they have nurtured, because they cannot envision a clear way to bring those goals to reality. Mama lived by the saying "You must walk by faith and not by sight." She believed that if you summon the courage to go after your dream, life will provide the answers.

One of the things I miss most is that I can no longer read, due to age-related macular degeneration. I get regular injections for this, and thankfully these seem to have arrested its progress, but it's still very difficult for me to read. That means it is hard for me to pick up my Bible and read it like I used to, and I miss that very much.

One of the greatest gifts we can give people is the hope that their death is nothing to fear - you know, not that it has no fear in it, but the promise of scripture is that God will lead us through the valley of the shadow of death.

O, when it comes to faith, what a living, creative, active, powerful thing it is. It cannot do other than good at all times. It never waits to ask whether there is some good work to do.

I never really had the classic struggle. I had faith.

I never had an intellectual struggle with the Bible, with the gospel, with the claims of Christ.

Faith is acting as if God is telling the truth. It is acting as if something is true even when it doesn't appear to be true in order that it might be shown to be true simply because God said it's true.

None of us knows what might happen even the next minute, yet still we go forward. Because we trust. Because we have faith.
