We've reversed the standard, walking by sight and not by faith. We want to be the best of what we see, but frankly what we see is far removed from God's best.

Remember, faith is never the denial of reality. It is belief in a greater reality.

The level of trust we have for God is a monumental issue in the life of every believer. Many variables in our lives affect our willingness to trust God. A loss or betrayal can deeply mark our level of trust. A broken heart never mended handicaps us terribly when we're challenged to trust. Trusting an invisible God doesn't come naturally to any believer. A trust relationship grows only by stepping out in faith and making the choice to trust.

We don't have to put down the Sword of the Spirit (the Word of God) to raise up the Shield of Faith. The way I see it, that's why God gave us two hands. If we want to live abundantly and victoriously, we must pick up both. To pick up the Sword of the Spirit without the Shield of Faith is to shrivel and dry up in the desert of legalism. To pick up the Shield of Faith without the Sword of the Spirit is to try walking by faith on quicksand.

I believe the more we "see" God at work, the more we'll believe; and the more we believe, the more we're liable to see.

We must cease to accept the visible as if it's the only possible solution and start believing what God says over what man sees.

Believing God isn't a book or a Bible study. It's a lifestyle.

I wouldn't encourage anyone to believe in a God of heaven if we had no evidence to support that He exists as the Bible says He does. The reason I teach belief in God is that, again and again, I have found Him to be astoundingly believable.
