If we're going to reach the unchurched, underchurched, dechurched, and postchurched with the gospel in a culture that's trending post-Christian, we must rethink our approach.

It's a shame that so many churches are married to a designed-by-Christians-for-Christians-only culture. A culture in which they talk about the Great Commission, sing about the Great Commission, but refuse to reorganize their churches around the Great Commission.

Whenever pastors assume people in their congregation know certain things, they miss opportunities to teach. If a pastor makes assumptions year after year, then a whole generation has never heard [that truth] for the first time. If we assume too much, we communicate too little.

To grow our congregants' faith, we must preach and teach for life change.

We almost always involve unbelievers in our small groups. And we give them opportunities to lead the discussion.

Preaching for life change requires far less information and more application. Less explanation and more inspiration. Less first century and more twenty-first century.

Don't be so concerned about keeping the folks you've got, that you neglect the folks you're trying to reach.

I'm going to France, I'm going to Germany, and I'm going to go wherever God sends me and gives me the strength.

I hope my greatest contribution will be to try to extract principles of truth that will cause us to live our lives in a more effective way and to advance Jesus' purpose in the world.

In this age of the electronic media and the mass distribution of the printed word, God will hold us accountable if we do not now move the Book of Mormon in a monumental way.

The joy you'll have when you meet that person in heaven will far exceed any discomfort you felt in sharing the gospel.
