The mind is never satisfied with the objects immediately before it, but is always breaking away from the present moment, and losing itself in schemes of future felicity... The natural flights of the human mind are not from pleasure to pleasure, but from hope to hope.

Courage is a demonstration of faith.

You do not defeat an enemy by just getting past him. You defeat fear by growing in faith. You defeat despair by growing in hope. You defeat death by growing in life. True life is only lived by those who no longer live for themselves, but for The King, and do all things for His sake and for those He gave His life for.

Your Reality will become what You embrace.

An aggressive reason that seeks always to grasp on its own terms will never come to know deeper dimensions of reality, including and especially the personal. Such depths can be plumbed only through something like a faith that accepts and receives.

At the point where hope would otherwise become hopelessness, it becomes faith.

There is no tomorrow. There is only a planet turning on its axis, and a creature given to optimistic fancies.

Question reality, especially if it contradicts the evidence of your hopes and dreams.

Without faith there is no truth, for that is all the truth is or ever was.

Though you lose all hope, there is still hope, and it loves to surprise.

In comparing religious belief to science, I try to remember that science is belief also.
