God has made me into a tough, battle-hardened believer. I am very grateful to have those eleven years behind me. But I used them. I chose to survive with my faith intact. I chose to come out strong and together. I endured, and now I'm going to thrive. I don't expect life to be easy. I do expect God to be there with me. He was during the last eleven years.

Our thinking and our behaviour are always in anticipation of a response. It is therefore fear-based.

To acquire true self power you have to feel beneath no one, be immune to criticism and be fearless.

When our internal reference point is the ego or self-image, we feel cut off from our source, and the uncertainty of events creates fear and doubt.

Disease and distress need to be healed. Yet over a lifetime, the key to well-being is a person's coping skills. With poor coping skills, you become prey to every accident, setback, or disaster. with strong coping skills, you become resilient in the face of misfortune, and resilience has been shown repeatedly to be present in people who survive to great old age with a sense of fulfillment.

The best use of imagination is creativity. The worst use of imagination is anxiety.

The conclusion of this little package of insight is that there are no victims. Wise people often say this, but when they declare that all is wisely and justly ordered, their listeners remain baffled. What about wars, fires, random murders, aircraft disasters, despotism, gangsters, and on and on? All of these imply victims and often cruel victimizers, too.

Whatever you most fear- abandonment, rejection, failure, loss, humiliation, has already occurred to you. The threats you perceive around you now, or coming at you in the future are the long shadow being cast by your past.

In self-referral, you experience your true being, which is unfearful of any challenge, has respect for all people, and feels beneath no one. Self-power is therefore true power.
