For any sin, we all suffer. That is why our suffering is endless.

Forgiveness is not automatic. It's conditioned upon confession: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Christ offers to everyone the gift of forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life: "Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life" (Revelation 22:17).

Sin is the biggest enemy of happiness because it results in a broken relationship with God. Forgiveness is its greatest friend, because it reunites us with the happy God.

The Spirit's work is not to make us holy, in order that we may be pardoned; but to show us the cross, where the pardon is to be found by the unholy; so that having found the pardon there, we may begin the life of holiness to which we are called." —Horatius Bonar

Presence, relationship, holiness, trust, beauty, goodness, peace—all were present in the relationship between God and humanity at creation. By playing God and redefining good and evil according to our own discretion, we introduced into the human spirit disobedience, absence, severance, distrust, evil, and restlessness.

I refer to the cross of Christ. The cross stands as a mystery because it is foreign to everything we exalt - self over principle, power over meekness, the quick fix over the long haul, cover-up over confession, escapism over confrontation, comfort over sacrifice, feeling over commitment, legality over justice, the body over the spirit, anger over forgiveness, man over God.

Someone has said that our sin scorches us most after we have received forgiveness, and not before. Once you realize how much you've been forgiven, you see how great that forgiveness really is.

Confess the truth until it moves from head to heart.

And if someone resists the Holy Spirit's conviction of sin and refuses to accept Jesus' sacrifice as God's righteousness, how can he or she be forgiven? Without agreeing with the Holy Spirit regarding sin and Jesus' offering for sin, forgiveness can never be granted. Therefore it is the unforgivable sin.

If we reject the convicting agent of the Holy Spirit and keep on deliberately sinning we simply can't obtain forgiveness.

God wants you to be delivered from what you have done and from what has been done to you - Both are equally imporant to Him.
