The whole course of things goes to teach us faith. We need only obey. There is guidance for each of us, and by lowly listening, we shall hear the right word.

People are influenced in their actions, not by reason so much as by feelings. The creative faculty of the mind is set

If you are influenced by "opinions" when you reach decisions, you will not succeed in any undertaking, much less in that of transmuting your own desire into money. If you are influenced by the opinions of others, you will have no desire of your own.

The Lord doesn't need anything "special" from you or me. He certainly doesn't need our counsel. When He sovereignly chooses you to do something great, He doesn't need your advice on how to go about it.

Which should be an excellent reminder that when God tells you to do something, you'd better do it; He always has a reason.

Yet, those who are truly honest and humble enough to admit the truth come to the end of their earthly lives acknowledging that they have barely scratched the surface.

Hold everything loosely.

Moses, you see, had walked with God long enough to know that even though the Lord's directions might seem foolish, he wasn't to question them.

When he has to risk everything on his leap, and in the spiritual domain Jesus Christ demands that you risk everything you hold by common sense and leap into what He says... Trust entirely in God, and when He brings you to the venture, see that you take it. We act like pagans in a crisis, only one out of a crowd is daring enough to bank his faith in the character of God.

When God's in it ... it flows. When the flesh is in it ... it's forced.

As long as we hold onto our own desires and remain fixated on having our way, we will be unable to see God, even if He were to stand right before our eyes. God, in His patient, sometimes painful mercy, allows us to hold our desires as tightly as we wish until we tire of the pain and loosen our grip. Meanwhile, He holds before us a divine alternative, one that offers great abundance in exchange for the trinkets we clutch with desperate resolve.

Most of us learn to trust, not because we're noble, brave, or godly, and certainly not because we have it together, but when we don't have any other choice.
