Read this definition of calm: "For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD. His heart is steady" (Ps. 112:6—8 ESV). According to this verse, where does steadiness originate?

Difficult days demand decisions of faith.

Belief happens when we place our confidence in God. It is a decision to lean entirely upon the strength of a living and loving Savior.

We can't take control, because control is not ours to take.

Trust God's hold on you more than your hold on God. His faithfulness does not depend on yours. His performance is not predicated on yours. His love is not contingent on your own. Your candle may flicker, but it will not expire.

Everything is indeed permitted if God does not exist, and man is in consequence forlorn, for he cannot find anything to depend on within or without himself."1
