Faith does not come from our understanding. It comes from the heart. We do not believe because we understand; we understand because we believe (see Heb. 11:6). We'll know when our mind is truly renewed, because the impossible will look logical.

If we are not careful, the steady stream of bad news will cloud our awareness of what God is saying and doing. Deception sets in that positions us to live and act defensively instead of continuing to respond to God's leading.

Revelation enlarges the arena that our faith can function in. Deception shrinks our area of faith.

To follow Him, we must be willing to follow off the map—to go beyond what we know. To do so successfully we must recognize His presence above all.

The realm beyond reason is the world of obedience to God.

One of the ultimate expressions of arrogance is to think that we know ahead of time what is about to happen, and to let that cause us to become ineffective in our assigned purpose and call.

We must sacrifice our need to be right, to understand or explain things. We have to trust Him enough to let Him shatter our boxes of understanding and lead us into deeper realms of His truth.

Questions are allowed in the Kingdom, but lack of answers must not interrupt our heart-communion with God. If we demand answers from God, then we are walking in the spirit of offense.

To be all we can be requires that we are more dependent on God.

If our study of the Bible doesn't lead us to a deeper relationship (an encounter) with God, then it simply is adding to our tendency toward spiritual pride. We increase our knowledge of the Bible to feel good about our standing with God, and to better equip us to argue with those who disagree with us.

Self-confidence is no greater than self. God confidence, which is called faith, is as big as God.
