Quit worrying about how everything is going to turn out. Live one day at a time; better yet, make the most of this moment. It's good to have a big — picture outlook, to set goals, to establish budgets and make plans, but if you're always living in the future, you're never really enjoying the present in the way God wants you to.

You can do more than pray after you have prayed, but you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed, John Bunyan writes. Pray often, for prayer is a shield to the soul, a sacrifice to God, and a scourge to Satan.

Give yourself-not just your time-to prayer. Remember that prayer is not an appendix to your life and your work, it is your life your real, spiritual life-and your work. Prayer is the thermometer of your soul.

Complex faith does not kill giants. It imprisons us in "wonder" land where we try to figure out what we cannot change and hesitate to make any move.

Christian may have entered the Valley of Humiliation overconfident and puffed up with false pride, but he departs with humble reliance on the Word of God and prayerful gratitude to the Lord of the Highway who has come to his aid and saved him from the Destroyer.
