The battle for our lives, and the lives of our children, our husbands, our friends, our families, & our nation, is waged on our knees.

We all need to understand that we can't "fix" or "change" our adult children. Only God can make changes that last in anyone. Our job is to release our adult children into God's hands and then pray

Dear God, I worship You and thank You that You are greater than anything I face. Thank You that You are a compassionate God of mercy and You hear my prayers and answer them. I thank You that You inhabit my praise, and that in Your presence my life and circumstances are changed. I am grateful that praising You changes me.

Lord, I come before You with praise and thanksgiving for all You are and everything You have done for me. No matter what happens in my life or in the world around me, I will not sink to the level of the problem. I will rise to the level of the solution and praise You as the solution to all my problems.

Lord, I praise Your name. You are almighty and far above all things. Your presence in my life is greater than anything I fear. I know faith in You and in Your Word will conquer all opposition in my life. With Your help, I will not dwell on my problems, but instead I will praise You and Your name continually.

My definition of prayer is simply communicating with God. It's a love relationship first and foremost. Prayer is baring your soul to the One who loved you before you even knew of Him and letting Him speak to your heart.

When you pray, do you expect God to do something because you know what He is able to do? Or do you half expect to be disappointed because you doubt that God could do something so great for you? If you answered yes to the last question, ask God to give you a heart filled with faith and expectancy of the great things He will do in response to your prayers.

Lord, I take great comfort in knowing You hear my prayers. Your Word tells me You listen and are never so far away that You cannot hear when I call. Help me to be patient to wait for Your answers, to not lose heart, and to never fear that You have not heard. Help me to trust You enough every day of my life to pray for all that concerns me.

What is in our hearts when we pray has more effect on whether our prayers are answered than the actual prayer itself.
