Usually if you pray from the heart, you get an answer—the phone rings or the mail comes, and light gets in through the cracks, so you can see the next right thing to do. That's all you need.

Prayer usually means praise, or surrender, acknowledging that you have run out of bullets.

Gratitude is peace.

The Amen is only as good as the attitude. If you are trying to finish up quickly so you can check your cell phone messages, you are missing the chance to spend quiet moments with the giver of life and the eternal, which means you may reap continued feelings of life racing along without you. So as Samuel Beckett admonished us to fail again, and fail better, we try to pray again, and pray better, for slightly longer and with slightly more honesty, breathing more, deeper, and with more attention.

You unconscious can't work when youare breathing down it's neck. You'll sit there going, Are you done in there yet? Are you done in there yet?. But it is trying to tell you nicely, Shut up and go away.

The connected economy of ideas demands that we contribute initiative. And yet we resist, because our lizard brain, the one that lives in fear, relentlessly exaggerates the cost of being wrong.

My friend Jon likes it when an airplane hits heavy turbulence. His insight is worth sharing. "The odds of a plane crashing from turbulence are essentially zero, so I sit and enjoy it. It's like a ride at an amusement park.

Talk to God. He loves you so much. Don't think you have to use fancy words. He's your papa, just talk.

Your soul cherishes every aspect of your life.

We have control over our prayer life, our relationship with Jesus.

There are certain weights in life you simply cannot carry. Your Lord is asking you to set them down and trust Him. What do you say we take God up on His offer?

Anything in life worth working for, is worth praying for.
