By thirty, I believe we should all focus more on feeling gratitude for the gifts we've been given. The more grateful we feel for our families, for our friends, for the good health we have, the more we will nourish those things for the future.

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

And now in my tenderness of remembering it all again, I think I am still there with him too. I am there with all the others, most of them gone but some who are still here, who gave me love and called forth love from me. When I number them over, I am surprised how many there are. And so I have to say that another of the golden threads is gratitude. I was grateful because I knew, even in my fear and grief, that my life had been filled with gifts.

The unthankful heart... discovers no mercies; but let the thankful heart sweep through the day and, as the magnet finds the iron, so it will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings!

No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks.

Develop an 'attitude of gratitude.' Say thank you to everyone you meet for everything they do for you.

Choose today to let the peace of Christ rule in your heart and have an attitude of gratitude toward the Lord. Even if you have things that are upsetting you, take a step of faith and begin to thank God for His goodness in your life. Thank Him for working behind the scenes on your behalf. As you do, you will walk forward into the life of blessing He has in store for you!
