New Year's Day is a good time to fix one's eyes on the only One who knows what the year is to hold.

If we spend enough time with God, He'll either make us strong enough that problems won't bother us, or He'll show us what to do about them.

If you want to be free, just start doing what God wants you to do, one step at a time, and you'll eventually walk out of your messes.

Someone once told me that God figured that I was a pretty good juggler. I could keep a lot of balls in the air at one time. So He said, "Let's see if he can juggle another one."

Don't waste time asking God to keep you from doing things. Don't do them.

Some of the presidents were great and some of them weren't. I can say that, because I wasn't one of the great presidents, but I had a good time trying to be one, I can tell you that.

When we are abandoned to God, He works through us all the time.

Surrender means, by definition, giving up attachment to results. When we surrender to God, we let go of our attachment to how things happen on the outside and we become more concerned with what happens on the inside.

When we pray for God to illumine our path, we are saying, 'Dear God, please show me the way. What thoughts do I need to think, to be able to navigate my life at this point? What perceptions do I need; what insights will guide me? Who do I need to forgive? What parts of my personality do I need to look at; what changes do I need to make? Please come upon me and heal my life. Amen.
