The victim mentality is one of the deadliest mindsets, because a victim is totally incapable of changing his or her environment. Victims spend massive amounts of time sucking the life out of everyone else because they live in a powerless state of mind. Victims believe that their external world has to change in order for them to be okay. Because a victim is so out of control internally, he or she feels an enormous need to control everyone else.

many Christians live with limited, powerless, finite thinking. How is this even possible? How do people who claim to have the Creator of the universe living inside them, the mind of Christ thinking through them, and the Spirit of God influencing the world around them even have the nerve to think small?

The truth is, you do not always have power over what happens to you, but you do have complete control over what happens in you.

The Holy Spirit rebuilds our "walls of salvation" by correcting our old, broken patterns of thinking and establishing new strongholds of truth that bring health and strength to every dimension of our beings.

As the Holy Spirit restores us, He trains our wills to choose thoughts, values and behaviors that bring Him praise.

Even if the main people who influenced us were negative role models, as Christians, we now follow Christ as our example and hear the Holy Spirit calling us into our true identities. When we begin to act like royalty, issues that felt like mountains in our lives will become mere stepping stones to demonstrate our character.

in what myth does a man live nowadays? In the Christian myth, the answer might be. "Do you live in it?" I asked myself. To be honest, the answer was no. For me it is not what I live by. "Then do we no longer have any myth?" "No, evidently we no longer have any myth." "But then what is your myth — the myth in which you do live?" At this point the dialogue with myself became uncomfortable, and I stopped thinking. I had reached a dead end.

in reality only a change in the attitude of the individual can bring about a renewal in the spirit of nations. Everything begins with the individual.
