God does not promise to make a bad thing good, nor has He assured us that He will keep us from bad things. He has promised us that in all things-even those that are terrible-good can come out of it for all those who love Him.

Singing about being rescued will never get old. Never.

So your desire is to do nothing? Well, you shall not have a week, a day, an hour, free from oppression. You shall not be able to lift anything without agony. Every passing minute will make your muscles crack. What is feather to others will be a rock to you. The simplest things will become difficult. Life will become monstrous about you. To come, to go, to breathe, will be so many terrible tasks for you. Your lungs will feel like a hundred-pound weight.

Without failure there is no sweetness in success. There's no understanding of it.

Stories of the beleaguered Saints and of their suffering and death will be repeated again and again...Stories of their rescue need to be repeated again and again. They speak of the very essence of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Suffering is wisdom's school teacher.

The most base of men can be civilized through suffering.

Affliction is a treasure, and scarce any man hath enough of it.
