A lot of psychological principles and even medical principles, you see them coming around to what the Bible said hundreds of years ago: a merry heart is good like a medicine.

Now carnal hearts do not find that power in the Word, that healing virtue that is in it, to heal their distracting cares, and the troubles of their spirits; but when those who are godly come to hear the Word, they find in it, as it were, a plaster for all their wounds, and so they come to have ease and contentment in such conditions as are very grievous and miserable to others.

Cheerfulness is the best promoter of health and is as friendly to the mind as to the body.

This will bring healing to your body and refreshment to your bones.

My son, pay attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.

Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your feet away from evil.

The light of the eyes cheers the heart, and good news nourishes the bones.
