Personal discipline, when it becomes a way of life in our personal, family, and career lives, will enable us to do some incredible things.

As you give God your time, your gifts, your resources and talents, He will use them to have a critically important and eternal impact on this world.

Take charge of your life or someone else will!

Two things define you: Your patience when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything.

You live not upon men's opinion; gold may be gold and have the king's stamp upon it, when it is trampled upon by men. Happy are you if, when the world tramples upon you in your credit and good name, yet you are the Lord's gold, stamped with our King's image, and sealed by the Spirit unto the day of your redemption.

Come to the end of your life—your one and only precious, God-given life—and let the last great work of your life, before you give an account to your Creator, be this: playing softball and collecting shells. Picture them before Christ at the great day of judgment: "Look, Lord. See my shells." That is a tragedy.

We come to love those we serve. If we choose to begin to serve the Master out of even a glimmer of faith, we will begin to know Him. We will come to know His purposes for the people we serve for Him. Even when they do not accept our offer to serve them, we will feel His appreciation if we persist.

Every day of your lives is practice in becoming the person you want to be. No instantaneous miracle is suddenly going to occur and make you brave and courageous and true.

Do not expect human beings to reward you, don't even think about it, just LOVE, because you know at the end of the day it will be God who will give you the reward.

Nothing resists a human will that stakes its very existence upon the achievement of its purpose

When you teach, you need to give the students incentives by grades or by other factors. I went to the Bible to find that topic in Scripture. I was shocked that after college and graduate school I had no idea that Jesus Christ had talked so much about rewards.

You can't be successful with other people if you haven't paid the price of success with yourself.
