Our lives are going to be less than God's best if we are consumed with "self." Self-centeredness keeps us from seeing the needs of others and causes us to miss the blessings that come when we serve. We don't have to totally forget about our own needs. But we can chase selfishness away by not always thinking about our needs first.

When I walk in love, I am not so caught up in how I feel, but I care more about what is going on in the lives of others than what is going on in mine.

If you are willing to give yourself away, you will have a much better life than you ever would have had trying to keep yourself.

Who are we thinking about? And whom are we giving thanks to God for? We all need a reminder that we truly become who God created us to be when we stop thinking about me, me, me—and focus on others with the good news of Jesus.

We need each other's gifts, talents, and skills to do the work of the Lord. Empowering others is the key here. This is the beauty of the body: We all have something to contribute; therefore, we need to discover what that is and believe that we can do it. Then it's our job to find out what others have and release them into the life they were intended to live, even if it far exceeds our own.

Love is selfless! Love is "you before me" decision making. Need it shorter? Love = Ub4me! There it is.

Spending too much time in one's individual silo can produce pride, isolation, and a stagnated ministry.

Example is more powerful than precept.
