It takes calmness and courage. Notice that Daniel never panicked or overreacted in the face of opposition. Amid life-threatening situations, he remained poised and peaceful. He practiced Psalm 46:10: "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations." We can remain calm when we have the deep, supernatural peace of knowing that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

I am not much of a TV addict, and if I have a day off, and I'm pottering around at home, I will always listen to Radio 4.

The Third Method of Prayer is that with each breath in or out, one has to pray mentally, saying one word of the Our Father, or of another prayer which is being recited: so that only one word be said between one breath and another, and while the time from one breath to another lasts, let attention be given chiefly to the meaning of such word, or to the person to whom he recites it, or to his own baseness, or to the difference from such great height to his own so great lowness.

There is no panic in Heaven! God has no problems, only plans.

He uses our problems for His miracles. This was my first lesson in learning to trust Him completely...

Always when I say that I am not able, I get the same answer from the Lord. He says, "I know you can't. I have known it already a long time. I am glad now you know it for yourself for now you can let Me do it." "All right, Lord, You do it," I said. And surely the Lord did.

But just as your body needs sleep, your soul needs time to rest in God. To learn more about Him. To talk to Him. To worship and praise Him. To fellowship with other brothers and sisters.

If God has done what you think he should do, trust him. If God doesn't do what you think he should do, trust him. If you pray and believe God for a miracle and he does it, trust him. If your worst nightmare comes true, believe he is sovereign. Believe he is good.

Most of us are living at a pace that is not only unsustainable; it's also unbiblical.

Rather than worrying about work, schedules, and deadlines, I felt at peace with God. He was in control. The world at large would not crumble because I turned off my iPhone. This is how it's supposed to be. For the first time in who knows how long, I felt like myself. Fully alive. Fully present. And fully aware of God's goodness.

I'm convinced normal people miss the majority of God's blessings because they're too busy to notice them.

Put him first. Seek him with all of your heart, and he will add everything that matters. Be still and know that he is God.
