When we experience God for who He really is, we suddenly see ourselves for who we are.

Wake up, dude! It's not about who you are. It's all about who God is.

A real encounter with the living God changes everything. First, it magnifies the Lord, and then it puts me and my ego and my sin and my burdens all in their rightful place.

The first step in personal revival is to get God in His rightful place. When God is recognized as being above me, beyond me, highly exalted, over me, and totally separate from me, I am getting in position for a downpour. When I embrace God for who He is and I understand who I am—when I know God's place, I can know my place—then things start to fall into place. That's what God's holiness does for us—it puts everything and everyone in their rightful place.

We display the success of what we have done by not having to do anything.

And what do all the great words come to in the end, but that?—I love you—I am at rest with you—I have come home.

There are days technology is a complete bother.

Go cherish your soul; express companions; set your habits to a life of solitude; then will the faculties rise fair and full within.

Solitary converse with nature; for thence are ejaculated sweet and dreadful words never uttered in libraries. Ah! the spring days, the summer dawns, and October woods!

Adopt the pace of nature.

When you turn your life over to God, you don't give up the drama; you give up the cheap drama.

A simplified Christmas isn't about circumstances as much as it is about focus.
