Every moment God gives you is precious. Never take the life and moments He has given you for granted

I remember riding in a taxi one afternoon between very tall buildings under a mauve and rosy sky; I began to bawl because I had everything I wanted and knew I would never be so happy again.

Live in the moment and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering

We're all going to die. And we have that in common with all these great men of the past that are staring down at us.

The Scripture says, "What is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away" (James 4:14). Even the cynical and secular at times think deeply about life and eternity. I am convinced that if people gave more thought to death, eternity, and judgment, there would be more holy living and a greater consciousness of God.

The greatest waste in all of our earth is our waste of the time God has given us each day.

Most people are living for today with barely a thought of eternity.

In heaven I'll wish with all my heart that I could reclaim a thousandth part of the time I've let slip through my fingers, that I could call back those countless conversations which could have glorified my Lord—but didn't.

We now have the advantage of a few years more of life, but death is still standing at the end of the road.

Sooner or later, we are going to face death; should we be making preparations while we are living?

It is strange that men will prepare for everything except death. We prepare for education. We prepare for business. We prepare for our careers. We prepare for marriage. We prepare for old age. We prepare for everything except the moment we are to die.

No matter how much you exercise, no matter how many vitamins or health foods you eat, no matter how low your cholesterol, you will still die—someday. If you knew the moment and manner of your death in advance, would you order your life differently?
