Sometimes ministry can be the biggest distraction to the pursuit of true intimacy with God

No love of the natural heart is safe unless the human heart has been satisfied by God first.

All the nouns—the people, places, and things—I've believed were inseparable from who I was have been strategically targeted by God. Over the years, He has sought to supplant them with Christ alone. They weren't cast aside as worthless any more than the land was relegated to meaninglessness for the people of God. They had their role, but they simply weren't Jesus.

Remember Matthew 6:33? "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

God surpasses our dreams when we reach past our personal plans and agendas to grab the hand of Christ and walk the path He has chosen for us.

Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart's desires. Psalm 37:4

There are so many things you can lose sight of as you try to win games and all the stuff we try to do every day.

I'm keenly aware of the Principle of Priority, which states (a) you must know the difference between what is urgent and what is important, and (b) you must do what's important first.

The artist and the fundamentalist both confront the same issue, the mystery of their existence as individuals. Each asks the same questions: Who am I? Why am I here? What is the meaning of my life?

Seeking God first will always put us in the correct position and aim us in the right direction to move into the future God has for us.

We all have human feelings, emotions, and thoughts. If we don't spend time with the Lord, we become dominated by them. But when we spend time with God, our unforgiveness, doubt, lust, hate, anxiety, and sadness becomes forgiveness, faith, purity, love, peace, and joy. When we delight ourselves in the Lord, He gives us the desires of our heart. When we commit our ways to the Lord and trust in Him, He brings our desires to pass as we pray about them (Psalm 37:4-5).
