We as born-again believers have to get our priorities realigned and realize our political alliances are not with the Democrats or the Republicans. As Christians, we should be monarchists. Our allegiance is to Christ the King. He will come back and fix all this; we do not need to allow anger to fester in our hearts like a disease. We're not even supposed plant roots in this life. Our home is a heavenly one. Our reality is an eternal reality.

Our Father, St. John of the Cross, says with great truth: "All good things have come unto me, since I no longer sought them for myself.

When life feels heavy, these two remedies relieve life's complexities: simplicity and purity. Simplicity seeks God. Purity enjoys him.

Do not trouble about those who are with you or against you, but take care that God be with you in everything you do.

Thou wilt be quickly deceived if thou lookest only upon the outward appearance of men, for if thou seekest thy comfort and profit in others, thou shalt too often experience loss. If thou seekest Jesus in all things thou shalt verily find Jesus, but if thou seekest thyself thou shalt also find thyself, but to thine own hurt. For if a man seeketh not Jesus he is more hurtful to himself than all the world and all his adversaries.

Observe this simple counsel of perfection: Forsake all, and you shall find all. Renounce desire, and you shall find peace. Give this due thought, and when you have put it into practice, you will understand all things.

The kingdom of God is within you, as the Lord says. Turn to the Lord with all your heart, leave this miserable world behind, and you will find rest for your soul.
