When I went to high school in Australia, I was exposed to textbooks that outlined evolutionary ideas - such as ape-like creatures turning into people. I recognized the conflict between evolutionary ideas and a literal reading of the book of Genesis.

Would undisputed evidence of the ark be of value? Absolutely. But is it necessary for one's faith? Not in the least. So do not forget this point: the Bible is true, and Christ is who He says He is, regardless of whether anyone finds the remains of the ark or not.

Church" today is mostly driven by man-made traditions and not by the biblical mandates to defend the Word of God and live by the Word of God.

But some object and ask, what about the "innocent children" — if there were any left — at the time of the Flood? First they weren't innocent (Romans 3:2329). But again, the onus would be on the parents and guardians who refused to allow their evil children the possibility of survival on the ark!

To put it bluntly, the churchgoer has been influenced by the secular world that opposes the reality of the biblical Flood. Many in the Church succumb to this secular peer pressure and also deny the global Flood.

Believe it or not, the secularists have even succeeded in passing laws that forbid the freedom of teaching about the global Flood in the state classroom or by state-sponsored places for fear of getting fired and sued! Sounds ludicrous, but this has occurred!

Creationists hold to an Ice Age that was triggered by the Flood. The Flood occurred about 2348 b.c., which is about 4,300 years ago.1 The secularists' most recent ice age was supposedly about 10,000 years ago (by their dating system).

These attacks are focused on Genesis 1—11, including the Flood and Noah's ark — in state schools, secular media, and secular museums . . . and even in many churches and Christian schools! We need to be prepared for the secular claims so that we can be ready to give a defense for the hope that is in us for our Christian faith surrounding the Flood and Noah's ark (e.g., 2 Corinthians 10:4—511; 1 Peter 3:1512
